What a morning at Extras looks like

Wondering what your child is signing up for? Here's a normal morning at Extras.

Before 6am

Drop-off is from 5:55. We don't wait for everyone: the first game starts with whoever is there, so a child who arrives early is on the ball straight away.

The hour

  • Agility game. We start with a ball-free game that gets bodies moving, balancing and coordinating. It's fast, silly and a good way to wake up.
  • Guided game. One focus for the morning, played as a game. Kids learn by playing, with a coach nudging rather than lecturing.
  • Free game. Smaller teams, lots of touches and plenty of goals.

Games, not drills in lines. Every child is on the ball, making decisions and having fun.

Finishing on time

Sessions finish at 7:00 sharp so families can get on with the school run.

What about progress?

At the start and end of the program, coaches note how each child is going with a few simple challenges, quietly, during the free game. It's never a test. Each child is only ever compared with their own starting point, and parents get to see their own child's journey, nobody else's.

What to bring

Extras kit, boots or runners, shin pads if you have them, a full water bottle, a hat and sunscreen.
